Hendri Saparini, a native of Central Java, graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta in 1988. She continued her master’s and doctoral programs at Tsukuba University in Japan. After a career as a researcher and consultant at several international institutions, she served as the Managing Director of ECONIT Advisory Group from 2005 to mid-2013. Since 2003, she has taught at various universities and provided courses at several government institutions and DPR committees. She founded CORE Indonesia in 2013 and served as its Executive Director until 2016.
An adventure sports enthusiast, Hendri is also active in organizations. She is a member of the Expert Council of the Sharia Economic Society and the Indigenous Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association. She has received several awards, including “100 Most Influential Women in Indonesia” (2012, Globe Indonesia magazine), “Young Indonesian Economist” (2009, Megawati Soekarnoputri), “One of Most Wanted Leaders” (2008, Q-TV), and “100 Young Leaders of Indonesia” (2008, PKS). One of her writings, “The Macroeconomics of Poverty Reduction: The Case Study of Indonesia,” was published by UNDP.
